Kassel and small children

We are bringing 2 daughters (3 and 6) to visit just after Christmas. I would love recommendations on where to stay and what to do.

Hi,

from some feedback from friends the Hotel Courtyard Kassel (marriott.com/property/propertypage/KSFCY) is a very good choice. It is behind the speed train station (ICE Bahnhof Wilhelmshoehe) and from the train station you can have good connections to different places in Kassel.

in Winter (after Christmas) you can perhaps still manage to pay a visit to the christmas market before it closes (if not mistaken a few days after Christmas?). The other places you can still visit are the usual places: musuems, orangerie, downtown, and Wilhelmshoehe Park. Although around this time the scenaries are different and limited as compared to spring/summer.
